Chinese people has so many festivals in throughout the year that they always be fresh during their working days. Chinese people follow lunar calendar and that is why each and every festival of China is based on Lunar calendar.

1. Chinese New Year:

When we are starting to give examples of Chinese Festivals then Chinese New Year will top the list. They celebrate the New Year according to the 1st day of the lunar calendar. It is also called as Spring festival. They celebrate this for around 15 days and people enjoy a lot in this festival as well as they eat good Chinese food too.

Lantern festival is kind of a continuation of the Spring festival itself. It is called as Lantern festival because colourful brightly lit lanterns are placed all over the city. It is also a festival of delicious food. It takes place on the 15th day of first lunar calendar. It is also known as Yuanxiao festival as Yuanxiao named small dumplings are eaten on this festival.

 3. Mid-Autumn festival:

Mid-Autumn festival is taken place on the 15th day of 8th lunar month. It is kind of Thanksgiving Day but it involves watching the full moon because full moon denotes the harmony and good luck of people. So a family get together is arranged on that day and they enjoy the moonlit night together with delicious food. It is a very pious Chinese festivals.

 4.Duanwu festival:

Duanwu festival is also known as Dragon Boat festival. It is celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. There are boat races take place in China especially in the southern areas. And this day all the people eat Zong Zi which is a glutinous rice wrapped with reed leaves.  People enthusiastically celebrate this festival of joy throughout the country.

5. National Day of China:

The national day of China is celebrated on the 1st October every year. This day China got the name of National Republic of China. It is the first day of 7 day long holiday in the country. The cities like Hong Kong, Macau and other cities of Mainland China is adorned with patriotic charm on this day.
